Nature
Without a doubt, Eli is located in one of the most beautiful and breathtaking areas in Israel, full of historical sites, gorgeous natural settings, and archaeological finds important to the Jewish nation and all of humanity. There is an archeological excavation site in the center of the western neighborhood, which preserves artifacts from the second Temple period. In fact, the entire area is one large historical site, because many biblical and historical events took place nearby, including the location of the Tabernacle in Shiloh, the battles of Saul and Yonatan, the battles of the Maccabees, and more.
Due to the geological nature of the mountainous region, there are several breathtaking overlooks of the entire area, as well as a number of gorgeous springs. On the southern side are HaGvura Spring and Ein Oz, which were renovated and made accessible to visitors, and north of the yishuv, under the Palgei Mayim neighborhood, is Ein Barakit. Across the yishuv, plans are underway to build the Derech HaGiborim promenade, where it will be possible to exercise in the fresh air and use free exercise equipment placed on the sides of the path. At the end of the promenade is a lookout point in memory of Captain Ariel Hovav, who was killed in action in a terrorist attack as he left Eli.
